People set the direction
Experience, creativity, emerging needs and business accountability remain the starting point of meaningful change.
We are researching a future in which enterprise software preserves its accumulated knowledge, learns from working with people and can evolve under deliberate control. AIKI is our research initiative towards a new form of software evolution.
Explore our vision →What if enterprise software could understand not only what it does, but why it does it?
Mature applications hold more than source code: decades of business logic, exceptions, decisions, relationships and the knowledge of the people who use them. Replacing systems prematurely can put that value at risk.
So we ask a different question: could artificial intelligence systematically uncover this hidden knowledge, retain it over time and help people evolve it? Not through a one-off modernization, but through a continuous process.
AIKI is intended to research the foundations for this vision. The goal is not to replace people with autonomous software, but to amplify human expertise through learning, explainable and responsibly governed technology.
The future emerges through collaboration: people define purpose, AIKI aims to reveal knowledge and prepare change, while existing software carries its proven business identity forward.
Experience, creativity, emerging needs and business accountability remain the starting point of meaningful change.
AIKI aims to connect knowledge from code, data, behaviour and business context, test hypotheses and develop explainable proposals.
Existing systems should retain their business logic and gain new capabilities through validated changes rather than repeated replacement.
User feedback, validated findings and approved changes should continually enrich the knowledge model and improve future development.
We are researching a closed learning and development cycle. Every stage should be grounded in verifiable findings, with people retaining control.
Investigate applications, interfaces, data flows and observed behaviour.
Uncover business rules, dependencies and intentions in an explainable way.
Preserve validated knowledge and connect it to new findings.
Make emerging requirements, friction and opportunities for improvement visible.
Design changes, assess their impact and test them under control.
Feed approved outcomes and human feedback into future analyses.
Our vision is grounded in concrete technical research directions. These names describe our architectural concept, not six completed products.
Analyze source code, technical structures, dependencies and potential impacts of change.
Connect business and technical findings with provenance, context and validation status in a growing knowledge model.
Investigate workflows, user interactions and system responses to connect documented and real-world logic.
Research testable expectations and regression safeguards against unintended changes to business logic.
Form questions and hypotheses, investigate gaps and deliberately seek further evidence.
Validate statements, proposals and results using evidence, tests and human review.
We look beyond the next release, migration or technology platform. We envision enterprise software whose business knowledge does not have to be rebuilt with every technology generation.
If knowledge remains preserved, understandable and adaptable, software can grow alongside people and organizations for decades. Our horizon reaches into the 22nd century — not as a prediction, but as an ambition for the longevity of knowledge and systems.
Do not replace the past. Give it the ability to become the future.
Learning and evolving systems are only valuable when their development remains verifiable and governable.
Goals, limits, approvals and production changes remain under human responsibility.
Existing rules and business identity must not change unnoticed.
Findings require provenance, evidence and a transparent validation process.
Simulation, testing, regression checks and documented approval precede production changes.
AIKI is in research and development. The described symbiosis, lasting application knowledge and continuous software evolution are research ambitions, not currently available or guaranteed AIKI product features.
